The Sterkfontein Dam Nature Reserve in the Free State province of South Africa is located in the foothills of the Drakensberg and has some of the most beautiful scenery in South Africa.


The extended nature conservation area around the Sterkfontein Dam is characterized by rugged mountains, endless expanse and a lot of water. Besides long walks and hikes, it offers water sport and fishing facilities in the dam. It is surrounded by a nature reserve and chalets & camping sites.
