The BBT Heritage Route - Free State - South Africa |
For travelers who want to experience the township life, the Tswana and Basotho lifestyle then surely the BBT Heritage is the ideal route.

This route was established and launched by the National and Provincial Departments of Tourism and Environmental Affairs in 2004 as part of a poverty relief programme.
Tourism attractions that form part of the route have been sign posted with brown tourism signage to give directions to all important attractions for self drive tourists.
From Bloemfontein the route passes through Botshabelo, a township believed to be the second largest black township after Soweto.
Botshabelo is well known for political uprising against apartheid and homeland system and from Botshabelo the dead end of the BBT Heritage route is Thaba Nchu where one can experience Barolong history and culture; visit the chief's kraal, Barolong Bo Seleka Cultural Village and tribal court proceedings. |
